Who we are
FX Alpha eBusiness Consulting was founded to fill a gap that has been open in the German-speaking market for years: an independent FX advisory with real market depth — not a generalist strategy house that picks up FX as one of many topics, and not a bank that sells its own products.
Our mandates come from across the FX ecosystem: banks (sell-side), hedge funds and trading firms (buy-side), private equity investors, systematic traders and crypto firms, brokers and platforms, FinTechs and vendors. What unites them: a concrete FX topic that won’t be solved with off-the-shelf solutions, and the wish for a sparring partner who knows the subject first-hand.
Stefan Hamberger — Founder & Managing Director
Stefan has spent nearly three decades on trading floors at leading European investment banks — Banque Nationale de Paris (BNP), Dresdner Kleinwort and Commerzbank. His stations range from FX sales through FX structuring to responsibility for eFX business with bank, corporate and institutional clients.
He was an early driver of eFX adoption — at a time when electronic FX trading was still considered a fringe topic in mainstream banking. This early-adopter perspective shapes the advisory today: he knows how platforms, products and client needs have evolved across two market cycles — and which themes keep recurring.
Stefan is a member of the ACI FXC (Foreign Exchange Committee) and is active there in shaping market standards.

Enrico Ferrante — Partner
Enrico brings a complementary perspective: deep expertise in FX trading and structuring from the angle of the FX options book and platform architecture. As Managing Director at UniCredit AG, he drove trading strategies, risk management and e-trading innovations.
His key projects include building advanced FX risk-management solutions and leading platforms such as UCHedge and Kristall. This experience — bank infrastructure processing thousands of trades per day — is the foundation of our advisory work in eTrading.

How we work
We are deliberately kept small. Every mandate is led personally by Stefan or Enrico — you don’t get a senior partner pitch followed by a junior team in delivery. This scaling discipline is intentional: it makes us selective about the mandates we take, and it keeps quality constant.
Our languages: German, English, Italian. We work regularly in the DACH region, Italy and the UK. Where needed, we engage trusted partners — for deep IT implementation, audit or regulatory specialist topics.
